Born in the Hague, Netherlands, Leon van den Eijkel has exhibited widely in Europe, the USA and New Zealand.
Best known for his sculptural practice, this Art Wall exhibit consists of early works on paper from the 1960s, which Leon says "uncork the ghost in the bottle" and enter the world of his family life at that time.
Works by Leon van den Eijkel are in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand, Wellington, and The Farm, north Auckland.
