KAITAGS from the CAUCASUS Rare Silk Embroideries from Daghestan

Six silk floss embroideries by women from two mountain villages in south Daghestan.

Only seen in the West since the 1980s these rare works from the 17th to the 20th centuries are characterised by dynamic geometric and organic designs which can recall the art of European artists like Klee and Matisse.
